We have recently bought a modular home and reside in a Mobile Home Park in MD. Last year we had repeated incidents with a middle school boy hurting, terrorizing and intimidating our 10 yr old son. This boy bashed his head into a paved road on one occassion. The Park Manager refuses to become involved.
He states it is on the parents, who do not have control of this child. I finally resolved the issue with this child after 6 months of calls, letters and visits from the police.
Since 8/27 we have a new issue, different kids (2) both in high school, suspended and bored. Pushing our son, threatening him and on one occasion destroyed a skate board and is supposed to make restitution.
We have called the police, filed every type of paperwork known to our area.
We have contacted the parent (LOL) who is not interested or concerned.
We have called the Park Manager and I spoke in person to him today and he still says its not his responsibility.
How do we find out the laws governing Mobile Home Parks in Maryland? The states attorneys office referred me to mdlaw.com which is how I found you.
Unfortunately, most of the links within this site do not allow me to just research laws online. I am going to the old fashion library next.
Any help or resources you can direct me to would be most appreciated.

Juvenile Problems in Community
Re: Juvenile Problems in Community
The Manufactured Housing Institute of Maryland should be able to help you. It is my understanding that if you present police reports showing that a resident is a threat to the health, safety, and welfare of the other residents of a community that management has an obligation to evict them. The state association should also be able to clarify that for you. And, talking to an attorney who specializes in manufactured home law and who can analyze your rules and regulations for the community will also help. Good luck . . . . sounds like a mess!
