Dog's in the park

Post by Frank Mochire » Sun Aug 15, 2004 5:50 pm

For years we were allowed to have dogs in the park, but now the owners have said that wwe can no longer have dogs that are over 20 pounds. If we have a dog over 20 pounds we have to get rid of them or we will be evicted. They have evicted two families so far because they refuse to gwey rid of the family pet which like I stated before we had had them for years now. Do we have any rights? and how can the owners just change to rules when they want to. They own other paks in the area and they are not doing it there. The owner are Garden Homes in PA.
Thanks

Well, provided that the community owners properly changed the Guidelines (rules and regulations) in accordance with PA law - - - the answer is "yes," they do have the right to change them. They must, however, give you proper notice that they are changing them and that includes the minimum number of days that state law requires. If they did not do that, advise them that this change is not legally enforceable. If, however, they did, then you must abide by the change.

Thanks Chrissy. I was just wondering if they could just change the rules for no reason. The dogs in the park are not the problem it's the kids, they play in the streets all day run thou everyone yards, smoke drink and are just plain rude as hell. And the community owners don't do anything about that. Pick on the dog owner.

Yes, they can change the rules "for no reason at all."
