ID Numbers or VIN Numbers

I have several units I am selling with some propoerty. These units are very old. I have no titles on these units but I have so called ID numbers listed on a 20 year old bill of sale. I need to know where I can locate the ID or VIN numbers in mobile homes. Also are there any website like car fax that can give me any information on previous owners. Units are in Florida.

Try the Bureau of Motor Vehicles or online I think it is TagTalk - you might try calling BMV to ask for the website.

This an an old post, so maybe you've found a solution by now. if not, you can take your bill of sale to the DMV and request a replacement/duplicate title. I believe they are about $40. You may need to supply additional documentation, which the DMV can tell you about.

there are several solutions to this problem. first you don't say what age. if you are in the catagory year of 60/70/80 the front of the mobile home, where the hitch is located, under the skirting, on the front frame where the supports are located. look from left to right. federal law required these year models to have the number stamped or cold stamped on the frame. you will have to feel for the number as after so many years it may not be totally visable. also use a wire brush this will also reveal the number. i have done this many times on the frame for the hitch. i'm assuming that you have already run the vin numbers with DMV and nothing has shown up. this is the only time you must locate vin numbers on the unit itself
