can i stay warm?
can i stay warm?
i have a 1977 Parkwood 14x70 and it is heated with oil..i live in central Pa. I just bought it in April for $500.00 I had the furnace inspected and was told the furnace is in excellent condition...the home needed new floors and some vanities...can any of you tell me if you think that the furnace will keep us warm and cozy, or do you think the furnace will run all the time when it gets very cold? the guy i boght it from told me he went thry 1 1/2 tank of oil (275 gal tank) that seems to be normal for other trailers in this park....my concern is that the guy might be lieing to me because he had a kerosene heater setting in the living room when i bought it...do you tinl it will be fine and warm or could i be in trouble? i am told that Parkwood was a cadillac of mobile homes...it does have 8 foot ceilings, 2x6 floor joices on 16 inch centers..it is solid...it doesnt shake at akk when the washer or dryed runs..it is solid like a tank......help!!!!
Re: can i stay warm?
That all depends on how well the home is insulated, if the underbelly is intact, weather stripping in place and in good condition, skirting in good condition, etc. Its a little late in the season to do much before winter sets in. The kero heater should have been a warning signal to you, but thats water under the bridge now. Tom
Re: can i stay warm?
I see they took off my other message. SO lets try this again. Bob I had one of those cold trailers a few years ago. I had to move out in the middle of winter. Ever single night I was there my snott in my nose froze, I had to run the hot water in the shower for a hour before my nose would defrost, but thats not the worst of it, my nose would get all sore and chapped then. Anyways I think you should go down to Wal-Mart and get some good sleeping bags and who knows, they might even have nose warmers to. Hope this helps:-)
