I am buying a 1999 Fourseason 28x80 on two acers. Paying 132,000 there is your prove of vaule going up.The pervious owner had some good up grades.The insulation in the floor was not one of them. Is there anything thing I can do to make it better. I am up here in Minnesota. Thank you.

I presently contract with a non-profit organization using goverment money to winterize homes thru-out Northwestern Montana. The State of Montana sets guidelines for the insulation of manufactured homes.
We cut small holes in the belly of the home and blow fiberglass insulation into the belly area of the home. Each home is different as to the amount of insulation that can be blow in, however, we obtain an average of R-19 to R-30 per home. This is above the R-factor that is currently in the home.
The process, although sometimes difficult, is very effective and reduces the heat loss considerably therefore reduces heating bills. We have seen heat bill reduced by as much as 50%.
Another method on the older homes is to remove a piece of siding on the bottom and drill a hole thru the rim joist between each floor joist. Using a long extension for our isulation blowing maching, we than fill the cavity with insulation. The preferred method of providing the same results is mentioned above by gaining access through the belley. These holes can easiely be repaired with patches.

Insulation in the Belly and Belly Tape
Hi
Do you know how or where I can get belly tape, how to apply it so it sticks (I am working in 30 degree weather. I am trying to work and seal my manufactured home from slits and inspection cuts and rips where the wheels cut through the black paper during travel to my site, plus a few mice made there way into my kitchen cabinets during the last few months, this month, I trapped about 5 mice from my stove and one of the cabinets in the kitchen.
Anyway, I want to go under my 40 x 24 and repair all the damages and openings left in the belly. So I don't have heat leaking from no insulation and also protect from varments from getting in. Thanks.
