I can't sing the praises of Deer Valley enough. After many, many months or reseach, we decided to spend our 100K with Deer Valley. Could have just as easily build a slab foundation traditional home, but choose to invest in Deer Valley. Get the extended roof pitch if you can afford, will add to appraisal. Our home 1.13 acres of land appraised at 160K. Told this is great investment.

Good luck. If you choose deer valley, tell Mr. Chet Murphree and Scott Strickland that Glynda Gaddis said Hi.

More advice, really get to know the people you choose to work with. From the dealer, to the manufacturer, to the sales reps and county, federal inspectors. They all know me by first name. Really makes a difference.

My family recently purchased a custom Indies home. I can honestly say it is the poorest excuse for a $100,000 house than can possibly be imagined. The workmanship is terrible, and the house looks like it was thrown together in a few days. Every door, receptical, light switch, is crooked...nothing is level, not even the floor. The large pantry that was one of the main selling points of this floor plan for me, is so out of square that the door won't stay closed. Every corner in the house will have to be retaped, and floated because they stuck sheetrock tape up and simply painted over it. The bottoms of the kitchen cabinets were finished with sheetrock rather than wood. We have had to hire an independant contractor just to get the house liveable. It's been a nightmare. We moved into the home in mid-January, and we have yet to hear from a representative of the manufacture and have in fact, not even received a phone call.

As you can tell, I would not recommend this brand of house to anyone.

What size home did you purchase with Deer Valley, (which model)? I have also been considering the same. I am a single mom and want to make a good investment. Are all of their products considered modular. I'm not sure. Have been looking at a manufactured home, don't mind buying one but if for a little bit more can have something that will retain its value would rather do that.

Shawn.....Maybe you should visit the bookstore here on this web site the buyers guides are well worth the investment.. The dealer/builder should be able to tell you if these homes are modular or manufactured homes....Your concerns for resale are unfounded...The buyers guides would make it clear that location is the most important part of eventual resale value...Be sure you shop location as hard or harder than you are the home...The guides would also make you aware that the most important part of the purchase is the dealer you chose....If the home is set properly all will most likely be fine for a long while...but if not right your purchase can be worse than your worse nightmare..Investigate the dealer as much or more than the manufacturer...

I tried to find a web site on Deer Valley Homes to help answer your question...I found none....That is rare for a quality company today...

Greetings, I was looking at Deer Valley homes myself and found this site through a web search.

They do have their own site but it's not easy to find. http://www.deervalleyhb.com/
I suspect they have underestimated the interest a site can bring their business.

My wife and I purchased a Franklin home and all I can say is don't believe a word the dealer tells you! Over half of the stuff I was promised was bulls$%^!
For instance I purchased extra insulation - ha ha - just enough to call it extra!
I was told the exterior walls were 2"x6" - ha ha - they are 2"x4"!
I was told the crown molding, baseboard and window sills was painted white - ha ha - its the type with a big white sticker on it and it comes off when it gets wet or humid! Can't even think of leaving the windows open if it rains at all!!!
The inside drywall corners are caulked and not taped!
The drywall was in terrible shape when we got the home!
They put the home together without installing the floor seam insulation, so I had to caulk all the way down the floor seam.
The windows are cheap and there are no upgrades without having them done by someone after you get it.
The service department is a joke, and unless you live close to the plant, good luck getting them there for warranty work!
The house is not square, it cracks and creeks like its going to fall over with even a mild wind......I could go on and on!
Don't be sold by looks alone, and watch every single step the dealer and setup crew make because they will try anything to get by cheaper!
