Timelines?

Here's what I don't get. Picked out home, he knew I was looking at land, he waited til I signed a contract for land and has just gave the info to the financing guy...I only have so many days to do soil tests, etc...so

What kinds of timelines am I looking at on getting approval for home?

Once that's done, what kinds of timelines do I need to expect for all other stuff?
