1999 Manufactured Home

Post by Sarah » Mon Oct 17, 2005 10:34 pm

My husband and I are looking at a 1999 home that sits on 3.5 acres, mostly wooded and the woods lead back to a river, in southern Indiana. It has approx. 2000 sq. feet. 3 beds, 2 full baths. The master bath has a seperate full size shower plus a garden tub. It has large walk in closets, a living room, family room with fireplace[it has a blower ], large kitchen/dining room with center island, dishwasher, stove, fridge, large utility room, skylights in kitchen and master bath. There is a large deck on front and back and has central air/heat. It has vinyl, double pane windows that lean in for cleaning and are graded at .48. The asking price is $81,900. We are currently living in a 14x70 1986 Liberty and while we have been happy here, the quarters are cramped and the lot we rent is small and has no place for the kids to play. We are anxious to get out of here and the asking price for the '99 seems good to us, but is it really or are we letting our need for more space making us look before we leap so to speak. Thanks.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but the home is also attatched to a concrete foundation. I should have said leap before we look. Thanks.

Sounds like a great deal to me, for the land alone. A place like that where I live would be at least 350K. I was back in the Midwest 2 weeks ago and it amazes me how far your housing dollar goes back there.

I've been looking at prices in north central Alabama for several months now. The price they are asking sounds very good to me. Just make sure you have the home inspected by an engineer who specializes in manufactured homes before you buy.

We just found out that the home is a 2000 not 1999. Here's a link to a picture of it..
