I too am a long time resident of Southern California. We have to look elsewhere for affordable housing. We have decided to purchase some land in Oregon, and put a manufactured home on the lot. Just begining the process, and would appreciate any words of advise. I have found a few good sources of info on the net, but nothing about pricing and what to expect to pay for a QUALITY manufactured home with 3bed/2bth and maybe 1500 sq ft. Also property prep costs.
Is there a way to purchase a home here and have it built and shipped from Oregon ? Or do we need to travel to a local place in Oregon to purchase our home to save cost's ?
Where is the best place to start for info and advise on this purchase ?
Thanks
Steve

Re:Moving out of CA...
Hi Steve,
I am too a long time resident of So. California and have recently purchased land in Oregon. I am also at the beginning process of finding out information.
From my understanding the construction and land prep would be cheaper in Oregon but I am uncertain about the home prices and if we can have them sent to Oregon if we purchsae here in California.
I too would also like to know on where the best place is to start on purchasing a
mfg home.
Thanks
Kevin

You have found a good place to start with these forums....Then go to the bookstore here...One of the books is written by a fellow Oregonian...Randy Eaton...He best knows this market place and has a consulting service as well....Ask all you can here..try the search function to search the hundreds of posts here...Good Luck...
