Byrd Foundations

Post by Margaret Abel » Fri May 20, 2005 6:58 pm

I am about to have delivery of a new Skyline Manufactured home, which will be set on a Byrd Foundation. The sales center, AAA Manufactured Homes of Tampa, has
told me that insurance companies will give a discount for Byrd Foundations. I have been unable to get anything in printed form about this foundation. If anyone can help me to get Mr. Byrd's published information, I would be most appreciative. Does anyone have his telephone number?

Margaret,
We purchased a Homes of Merit from Acme homes in Homossa. Our home is sitting on an the Byrd footer system. And as far as we were told they are the only ones who are able to use the Byrd footer system. Acme holds the patent on it. http://www.acmehomesii.com/cfooters.html

Has the footer been poured yet?

Hi Margaret. I bought a 32x80 Skyline from Mr. Bill Byrd (Byrd's Homes in Palatka) in October 03. I did a lot of research, and his foundation is truly a solid one. I receive a $230 annual discount from the Safeway Insurance Company because of his foundation. Mr. Byrd invented and holds the patent on it, hence the name. He allows a select few dealers to use his system. The phone # is 386-328-1020. There has been Zero settleing of my home, I cannot imagine another foundation.Have a great day:)

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the response.

As you see from the next response, there are other MHs that are footed on the Byrd System. Skyline is one of the others.

No the digging has been done, but no pouring as yet. I think the inspector came
already, so they will probably pour soon.

Hi Eugene,

Thanks again. I will call Safeway & your agent tomorrow. But I have been told that my park is closed even to a new home as far as Safeway goes.

My wife told me that I miss understood what the salesman at Acme said. He said they are the only ones in their area that are able to do the Byrd Footer System, not the only ones in Florida.
