Best MH ?

Post by Gazelle » Thu Apr 21, 2005 9:21 am

My husband and I have been looking at MH for about a year and have no idea which is really the best manufacture. We lean towards Golden West only because their showroom models "look" well done. What has been your experiences? Who seems to be the best. We live on the coast in Oregon.
Thanx!

Here are a few resources that you can check out.

The Grissim Repot on the TOP 25 MH BUILDERS at www.MFDHOUSING.COM/top25 . Grissim’s top 25 manufactured home builders rankings are based on the total number of HUD-code homes that each built in last year of available complete records. (Calendar 2003). This information was compiled from reports by industry sources, including the trade magazine Manufactured Home Merchandiser. He offers Customer satisfaction ratings for each builder: The four grades — Hit & miss, Satisfactory, Good, and Excellent—are derived from anecdotal reports
If your considering A modular home. Do some independent research. Read the

Manufactured Housing Multiple Listing Servicehas emerged as the web's number one most popular destination for buyers searching for a manufactured home You can get a very good picture of the prices for various homes in your area. The MLS includes listings BY OWNER, BY DEALER, BY BUILDER and BY FINANCE COMPANIES Listings are searchable by city, state, number of bedrooms and baths, manufacturer, year built and price. Each listing also auto-interfaces with Yahoo Maps. There is a MAP link included each listings individual page. i am orig from wash state and i have over 17yrs in the mobile industry, and from what i have seen up there in the north west the best homes are the fleetwood woodland homes, goldenwest from albany and silvercrest and lets not forget the glenriver. stay away from the ore fleetwood factory, forget the liberty and palm harbors & champions. , also if on the coast upgrade your insulation pkg and roof shingles. and if avail go with a vynal siding. it will hold up better to the elements, dont forget to pit set and use concrete runners and tiedowns and for skirt there is a new concrete pannel system good luck!
