If your retailer doesn't seem to know what he's doing, keep looking.
You want to buy your home from a qualified retailer.
And like Eugene said, they have a lot of retailers to pick from.

Thanks again, everyone. Murray, you hit the nail on the head about FHA requirements as far as set up goes. My biggest concern/fear is that I will have one of those horror stories where the house isn't set up correctly. What I am hoping is that the FHA loan will mean more accountability on the part of the dealer/set up crew which will hopefully mean fewer problems. As I said before, my credit score isn't stellar but it's fairly good and, I think, good enough to secure conventional financing. However, IF that means a sub-prime rate (650 for a 'stick built' home would easily be financed as prime but isn't so prime with a manufactured) of 7.5 to 8% than I think an FHA loan is a better way to go. I will definitely compare the two though.
