comparision shopping

Post by mona beavers » Tue Mar 08, 2005 10:06 am

I was to build a retirement home. From what I have read Modular maybe just what I am looking for. The property I have purchased will not let you put a mobile home on the property but will let you build a modular home. I live in Texas and will be relocating to Cedar Creek Lake but not on the water. I have looked at Oak Creek Homes so far. Does anyone have anything to say about their work. And I would love to have other suggestions about other companies. I am looking for a 2 br 2 bath, large kitchen and dining room and a decent but not oversized living room. I also need a utility room. Looking for about 1300 sq feet.
Thanks Mona

I am beginning to think about buying a manufactured or factory built or modular home. I want to get the best made and serviced. (don't we all?)
Months ago I came online and found a site that compared each builder and their warrenties. I don't remember which one but I remember that 1 factory bases about 1/3 of the workmen's pay on a questionare that the purchaser fills out after being in the home for 1 yr. To me that sounds like it would guarantee good workmenship!!
Anyway, I would like to find that site again. Can anyone furnish a link for me? Also would appreciate any other tips on preparing to buy the best made home possible. (Don't you hate the way that search changes so extremely?)

Thanx
