Looking for data on costs in owning MF home

Post by Debbie » Sat Dec 11, 2004 10:42 pm

Are there any articles or books that look at the long term cost pro's and cons of owning a
>MF home vs site built.
>Land owned vs rented space..property taxes and upkeep expenses weighed against space rent and taxes.
>What are the tax differences in MF/Land vs MF/Rented space.

I keep thinking owning the land or lot would be cheaper over the long term but maybe not.
I may not have worded my question right but I hope someone gets the gist of what I am trying to figure out.

Thanks.

There are some good books in the book store on this site...These will address some of your questions..

Your state's Senate spent some of your tax money on this issue...You might want to read the report they issued...Little old...but still online..

Go here

http://www.sen.ca.gov/ftp/SEN/COMMITTEE ... /guide.htm

or

Consumers Union has done a reprot that answers some of your questions...

http://www.consumersunion.org/pdf/mh/Appreciation.pdf

They also have extensive info at..

http://www.consumersunion.org/other/mh/brochure.htm

If you have a high spped connection...they even have about 30 min of video presentation...here..

Hope this helps..Good Luck
