comp on new mh
Re: comp on new mh
Stay away from Clayton if you live in the northern section of the US.
Redman in PA builds a good home. I am speaking from experience.
Marlette in PA also builds a good home.
Good Luck.

I think that the dealer I spoke with sells Redman from IN...do you know anything about them? The clayton was a norris clayton...which Ive heard is top of the line around here........until I found this forum.....I really appreciate the info from others...I need all the experience and advice I can get

Re: comp on new mh
Thank you. I have read several people praise of the Palm Harbor...I did not know that they were available around here. Neither has any clayton dealer in my area mentioned to me the Marlette...........I'll keep cking
Re: comp on new mh
Clayton has a problem with the roof shingle underlayment for homes shipped north (like WV).
Palm Harbor is good, Redman IN is bad, very poor service. Redman PA is very good.
What price range are you looking in?

I own a Palm Harbor home. The quality of their homes is unbeatable. Their service department is top notch and they do everything they can to please the customer before, during and after the sale. I dealt with the people in Sabina, OH and everytime I called, they were very kind and helpful. They even fixed some cabinets after I was out of warranty.
I would recommend a Palm Harbor home to anyone looking to buy a MH home.

Re: comp on new mh
For the most part I would like to stay in mid 70's. Its like anything else, if I keep my eyes open and deal I know I can get a better price, and it isn't a "have to buy" case. I own a home now but would like to move closer to my family. I can afford more according to my preapproval, but why invest every dime if I don't have to. I know that I would like to have a porch built on and some land improvements along the way.
Re: comp on new mh
Thank you...I have contacted the closest dealer to me...it is a good distance away but I plan on visiting them soon
