I assume it must be disclosed plus when it lists who the builder is, buyers inquire, or home inspector tells them that will point to modular and leaving out logic and reason there is some prejudice against any home built off site be it manufactured, modular or panel. You get a better constructed home if it is built off site because of economy of scale and repetition but you cannot get around the prejudice of off site built homes.

Thank you both for your responses. Whatever we decide on will remain in the family for a number of years. My husband bought this farm before I met him and he has no intention of ever selling it, so we're not as concerned with a resale value. The property has increased in value well over what he originally paid.

We went to another location where we could see all models yesterday and had a much better experience. The salesperson was much more knowledgable about Discovery Homes and their location has actually sold and setup a few of the homes for home buyers. The original location had only setup the houses at their own lot. So we are still considering these homes.
