Skirting problems

Post by Anthony » Mon Jun 23, 2003 8:26 am

We moved into a double wide PH back in November of 2002. Since then we have had record amounts of rain. The house is located in east texas. In February, I noticed that the rain has eroded the soil that was supporting the skirting on the rear of my house. There is not any standing water under my house. I installed gutters back in March. The gutters has helped a little. I am considering buying a load of topsoil to build up the area that supported my skirting. I have not planted any shrubs yet. I heard that planting shrubs would help. I've even thought about gravel. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

The problem you have is a common one. The material you use is important. I would recomend a gravel base to support your skirting. then on top of that put rock. The rock will deflect the water and prevent further erosion. If you have any questions please e-mail me.
