Cost of Wood Going up Up UP!!!

In the last month and a half since we have been doing out research on our new Homes of Merit Bay Manor wood has gone up 3 times. First 600 then 900 and this last time a whopping 1500 dollars. I know its not the Dealer because I spoke with the Manufacturer Rep Myself.
The Cost of Gas is making the cost of wood Skyrocket.
Hopefully we are doing out closing the first of next week so they can't go up on us again. I honestly hate to have to turn down this place but it's almost becoming a matter of principal. It's almost to the point of stupidity.
Oh Well just ranting I guess I'm done now.

You have a good point on this one but trust me, it is every bit as aggrivating for the retailer as well. It really put the retailer in a pickle when they are out quoting prices and find out an hour after the customer has left the sales center that the lumber surcharge just went up $1,000. It really makes the retailers look like they are up to no good when they honestly have no control. Good luck and I hope you will enjoy your new home.

Yea I know. He was very upset when he had to tell us.
It had him walking in circles. I do understand but there are alot of others who won't.

Once we decided on a dealer and model we liked, we were able to put 500 down to lock in the price of the home while the rest gets sorted out. Does your dealership have that option?

Not to my Knowledge.
I am not the easiest customer in the world either and I have done a ton of upgrades so I really don't have much of an excuse.
We won't be locked until the construction closing which should have been thursday the 20th of May (Yesterday) we are having problems getting an appointment with the lawyer. Hopefully it will be Monday but it better be next week for sure.

I think that the increases in lumber, steel, and cement have something to do with China’s demand for these resources.

I hope you close soon....My guess is the plant will live with your most recent close...

Most homes (not just manufactured homes) have gone up about 10% in lhe last few months...there is a building boom worldwide..building products are going to China and Iraq by the boat load...Building products are supply and demand just like other products...
