fuqua homes

Does anybody know much about fuqa homes. My wife and I are planning on buy a new manufactured home and we were pretty much sold on the Solitaire until we came across the Fuqua. It seems to be a superior constructed home to about anything we have found (solitaire a close second)but they are a bit more pricey. They offer some things I like ,such as 5:12 pitch roof and other things.A 2100 sq ft home will cost me about 88,000.00.Just wondering if anyone had any info on Fuqua.

Just curious-are you getting OSB or plywood floors?

For the money you can't beat Solitaire if you find one you like because they won't change much, probably the reason they are such a good value price wise. The construction is very good, 2x6 exterior, 2x4 interior, plywood floors, T&T walls floor and a grid work ceiling which is unique and looks strong. Go to Duncan and take a plant tour to see how they are made.

Fuqua also makes a nice home but for more money, Same basic featuers but they will custom a lot of things. The one item that is a must to upgrade on the Fuqua is the flooring because they use Cres deck which is another word for particle board and will cause problems down the road. They have a plant in Columbia MO and have a dealer just outside Columbia with a large selection of homes to look at. It would be worth the drive to take a plant tour and see some models.

From the web site solitaire models are rather limited as far as availability goes. Any way we could get a new model up in WI?

Solitaire

Solitaire is a regional builder and seems they only service TX, OK ,NM, MO AR so I would say they will not go to WI. They are a well built home but plain and offer few upgrades/modifications. It is a private owned company and they build one model at any run which lowers costs and mistakes. I have been impressed with the construction but SWMBO thinks they are too plain.

Jim,
88k for a Fuqua seems reasonable compared to the prices I have recieved from dealers in Chico, Ca. and Klamath Falls, Or.
I was looking at their Lodge Series w/ log siding. They qouted me at 101k for it and it is only 1500 and some odd feet! Where are you getting your price from and what model is it? Hopefully I can go there and get one.
Thanks,
Wes

wes,I was quoted this price on the model588 in the eagle pointe series.Home mart out of Tulsa ,Okla.phone # there is 918 835-0567 ask for charlie slavens. After doing a lot of debateing I decided on the Solitaire 8632.we loved the floor plan and the construction is great. It also gives us 2642 sq ft of living space for 77,500.Hard to pass that one up.
