Hi we've just began our search for homes--found a patriot that we love, but we have to sell our house first. Anyway--is buying a manufactured home similar to buying a stick built in the fact that you can negotiate a better deal. For example when we bought our home they wanted price A--we asked price B and everyone settled around the middle for price C. I understand there are items you can negotiate and others you can't. I don't want to break the rules, but if I can save money I would love to find out the ins and outs. Let me know if you have negotiated a better deal with a manufactured homes dealer. Thanks

Negotiate a better deal?
Re: Negotiate a better deal?
Everything is negotiable and a MH is no different. Shop different dealers but make sure you are comparing the same home with the same upgrades and services. If one quotes poured footers as part of the package make the others, same for skirting and anything else. Pay as much attention to the dealer as you do to the home because they are equally important. It is a tough time for the industry so most are willing to take less to move houses.
Re: Negotiate a better deal?
Thanks! I need to begin looking to see if we have other dealers in the area who sell the same homes.
