Negotiate a better deal?

Post by Amy » Wed Jul 30, 2003 11:07 am

Hi we've just began our search for homes--found a patriot that we love, but we have to sell our house first. Anyway--is buying a manufactured home similar to buying a stick built in the fact that you can negotiate a better deal. For example when we bought our home they wanted price A--we asked price B and everyone settled around the middle for price C. I understand there are items you can negotiate and others you can't. I don't want to break the rules, but if I can save money I would love to find out the ins and outs. Let me know if you have negotiated a better deal with a manufactured homes dealer. Thanks

Everything is negotiable and a MH is no different. Shop different dealers but make sure you are comparing the same home with the same upgrades and services. If one quotes poured footers as part of the package make the others, same for skirting and anything else. Pay as much attention to the dealer as you do to the home because they are equally important. It is a tough time for the industry so most are willing to take less to move houses.

Thanks! I need to begin looking to see if we have other dealers in the area who sell the same homes.

Many buyers spend a great deal of time shopping for a manufactured home but don't have a clue
on how to bring the whole process together for their best advantage. Randy Eaton guides you
through the complicated maze of MH buying and site preperation. in his best selling book How To Buy
A Manufactured Home And Save Thousands Of Dollars

This book will show you how to negotiate the best price possible by
taking you through a step-by-step process that works every time. Learn how to
determine the sales center's invoice, transportation costs and set-up fees.

This information is only available in this book, nowhere else can you learn

about the retailer's invoice and set-up costs. This alone is worth the price of the book.

What about site preparation costs? This is another area
where people spend thousands of dollars without even knowing it. By
understanding this process with helpful illustrations and simple formulas you can
avoid unnecessary site preparation costs. Get the facts before you buy and
save time and money.

Now you can rely on information that has helped hundreds of buyers make the right
decisions. Look at the impressive list of topics included in the

table of contents.
