Corrections before closing

We currently have a Nashua home being put together on our property. It's a great house, except that they placed the dishwasher on the wrong side of the sink. This leaves a very tiny cabinet in the corner that is just about usless (the shelves actually fill the whole corner area, but you can't reach anything because of the tiny door). Also, from the kitchen side the cabinets and counter look nice. But when you look from the family room side (there is an opening) One side of the over head cabinet is tucked behind a wall and the counter is not flush on one side, so it leaves a small jet out. This looks awkward. The dealer says that Nashua AFTER ESCROW CLOSES will do a walk through and correct this. I am advised by others that I need to have this in writing BEFORE the close of escrow or before we release all the $$$. We expect to close escrow the week of August 11th. Is it reasonable for a written request? We need it to close no later then that week, because of the loan. Any suggestions???

If they will not correct this before closing than have a substantial amount held in escrow until it is fixed.

Thanks for the information. I e-mailed a letter and pictures directly to Nashua. They called me the next day and the following day their service guy was out and fixed the situation the following day. We are looking forward to moving into our new home. I recommend purchasing a Nashua home.
