Finally.....
Finally.....
Several months ago, I read a post on here that said to find the right dealership first and then find your floor plan and make your deal (instead of the other way around). Not listening to that advice, I tried to make the floor plan work with the dealership I went to. Not one thing was working out, the prices changed, the information given to me changed or wasn't correct, I couldn't get straight answers, etc. After spending 5 wks trying to understand (& overlook) all the things that didn't make sense to me, I realized I had to start over. I did so with the mindset of looking for a dealership I liked (you know, that "right" feeling) and also believed was giving me accurate information. After visiting around, I did find that dealership. The salesman offered me great ideas on how to get some of the things I wanted in a particular floor plan (like adding a 4 ft extension to a room, which I didn't know could be done) and offered it to me at a "can-do" price. I'm so amazed at the difference in dealerships--the difference in how they communicate, the accurate information they give out, if they will negotiate and so on . Along with getting the home you want, I'm now convinced the dealership can contribute to making it a dream or a nightmare....
Re: Finally.....
Folks who put the dealer first in their quest are by far the most satisfied...Good dealers offer good homes at fair prices..with no uncalled for sales tactics.
Good Luck with your new home..
