Cavalier and Cavco the same? sm

Post by Myra » Sat Dec 07, 2002 12:30 pm

I was searching for floor plans and ran across a place that listed photos and such, and they had some "Cavco", I believe it was, listed. The photos showed some pretty neat interiors, with columns between living and dining and such as that. Are Cavco and Cavalier made by the same company?

Your answer "sounded" slightly short. Having a bad day? ;-)

Anyway, let me get this straight, then....Cavalier and Buccaneer are the same, right? The Buccaneer line looks pretty neat. One of them I found has a neat facade, with interesting little "dormers" over the windows on front. Also they use that acrylic "glass block" in some of their bathrooms....I love that stuff. I might check them out if they are the same, since I've read here that Cavalier makes a pretty good home.

Sorry..I did not mean to be short..but a short question seemed to call for a short answer...
You are right that Buccaneer is a Cavalier brand...but the I do not think they build the features you mentioned...I could be wrong...but my understanding they are exactly alike the Cavalier, Homestead, Bellcrest and Belmont..Have you checked out their web site at ..
http://manufactured.home.buccaneerhomes.com/

They ahve many floor plans and pictures and nothing like you mentioned..

You may be thinking about Clayton. They're now producing a man. home that looks exactly like a stick-built with the high-pitched roof and dormers. If these things look as good as their pictures, they ought to blow the stick builts out of the water. They cost more than the traditional style m-h's but I'm not sure by how much. They're still cheaper than a stick-built, though. And if Clayton is doing this now, can the other m-h companies be far behind?

I guess it was the all-caps that threw me. I thought maybe you hated Cavco or something. ;-)

I found the Buccaneers with the stuff I was talking about on mh-quote.com. I clicked on "Photos" or something like that on the left and there were some of all different kinds of brands.

I think you were talking to Meg about sending a picture of the Champion, but I'd like to see it too. At the Champion dealer near here the salesman showed me some pictures of some better-looking homes and he said they would be dealing in them before long. Instead of posting my email I'll email you, if that's ok.

Thanks for posting that Buccaneer link. I have only looked at the Cavalier site because I thought they were all the same.

I ended up posting my email anyway...forgot to erase it. Well, will you send me the picture of the Champion, please? :-)

Actually, now that I've gone to it and looked...sm

I realize I have been to that one before.

Here is the address of the one I found with the glass block and the dormers. When you get there it will show the floor plan and click on "Photos Available" on the right. The "Bath" and the "Outside" pictures show what I was talking about.

http://www.mh-quote.com/FindHome/FloorP ... setPhotos=

Actually, now that I've looked more closely, I realize that the window placement on the outside picture don't even match the floor plan! But the bath photo seems to match the floor plan. I noticed some of the living room photos don't seem to gee-haw with the floor plan, either. Anyway, it shows what they have available, unless they're pulling our legs with that outside photo.

I have another question about Champion, but I'll post it at the top. Sorry to be so full of questions. :-( I'm a details person, I'm afraid.
