Sales Centers?

Randy,
In your books you mention to visit at least three different sales centers to make sure we are getting a fair deal. My problem is that there is only one sales center in the state we live in. What is the best way for me to getting additional quotes on the model and options we want?

Also the sales center talked about using a crane to set the house on our basement vs. rolling the house on. when you are giving your estimates for the set up and delivery costs what method did you use or does it matter?

Hello Travis,

Most states have more then one sales center but it's not uncommon to check out other sales centers in other states. I would go to other sales centers within a 400 to 500 mile radius of your site. When I estimate transportation costs in my books I figure normal traveling distances within 200 miles of customers site. In your situation a crane will be used which is an additional cost. This is normal procedure and I would probably recommend a crane for basement sets. I would guess the cost to set your home would be around $3,000 to $4,500. This would include delivery to your site and the cost of the crane to set your home. Hope this helps.
