A Horton dealer just told me to day that Horton's water lines (the pipe that brings water into the house, I think) are 3/4 inches whereas other m-h's are only 1/2" which results in low water pressure.
Is this true, and if so, would it be an option to upgrade to the 3/4"?
There are so many things to consider when buying a manufactured home -- it's driving me crazy!
Water line measurement
Re: Water line measurement
It works exactly the opposite...smaller line..higher the water preasure...1/2 inch is the building industry standard on all types of homes..
Candidly...I did not know this about Horton...I will have to go out to the slaes center and look..

Re: Water line measurement
Most MF homes in our area (south west) have a 3/4 inch water inlet, 3/4 inch main piping system with 1/2 inch branch lines.
If I remember my mechanical engineering classes correctly the larger pipe size is better since fluid head loss (resistance to flow) will be higher in a smaller diameter pipe.

Re: Water line measurement
The question was about water preasure...not flow...obviously more water can flow through a larger pipe...but the preasure will be greater on the smaller pipe..
