Hello Folks,
I purchased a Skyline home built from the Kansas plant. They said they were the best, but I guess not. The roof is weakening, ceiling is caving in the kitchen, dining, and living room, siding is bulging out from the studs, the floor squeaks, ceiling panel is loosening. I believe what Richard put on the posts. Don't buy Skyline Manufactured Home. This home is only 2 years old and I have in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Very cheap product.
Skyline Home is JUNK!
Re: Skyline Home is JUNK!
Thank you. I believe that a few months of truth will get around to the potential MH buyers and they will steer onto the right roadway. Good luck with your Skyline.
Re: Skyline Home is JUNK!
Hello Daniel,
When considering any manufacturer, they will usually offer a wide variety of models or series to choose from. In your case Daniel it sounds like you purchased a poorly built Skyline. Now Skyline does built high-end and mid-range homes that sell for $40 to $55 per square foot and are considered a quality home. Not all Skylines are junk that is why it is so important to understand the different types of construction techniques being used. In my book, "How To Buy A Manufactured Home & Save Thousands Of Dollars” I reveal how to know if the home you're looking at is built right. For those of you considering a manufactured home you can order it through this site on the main page, click on the book-store link. Daniel, I am sorry to hear about how your home is not holding up. Have to contacted your sales center or the factory to have them come out and look at your problems? Most manufactured homes have a strutural warranty.

Re: Skyline Home is JUNK!
My husband and I were considering buying a Skyline home in Illinois. Is the Skyline home that you brought a mobile home and what is the price that you paid for it?
Also have you contacted the company? If you have, what is their response to your problem that you are having with their home.
Thanks

Re: Skyline Home is JUNK!
Nancy,
Hello, When I first purchased the home from the West Mesa Manufactured Dealer, which is an exclusive Skyline Home Dealer, They told me it was the best. The home has 2x6 sidewalls, acoustic ceiling, hardboard siding, one piece tub shower stalls, shingle roof, and 30 pds. per. sq. roof load. The problem started to arise about 10 months after I purchased it. The ceiling panel started to warp and you could see where the roof trusses are, and the exterior siding started to come loose from the nails. I told the dealer but they didn't do anything, and was told the warranty expired. I Previously owned a 1984 14X78 Marlette Home, which was such a great home. I never had problems with it at all. I wished I never would of used it as a trade in. I had the Skyline checked out by a local tranportered who said it's leveled just fine and the proper ventilation under the home, and said the home either was built on the tires and chassis which wasn't leveled at all, structral defects. I also called the Kansas factory but they were no help. I left my name and number but no one called me back. So good luck if you are in the market for a Skyline Home.

Re: Skyline Home is JUNK!
More and more, we are seeing Skyline on these forums. I really wonder what is going on with a "used to be" great company.....I hope that is OK for me to say.
