Snow Loads

Post by wendy » Thu Apr 04, 2002 8:23 pm

The snow load requirements for our location is 100lbs. So far the only MH builder that is capable of doing that (that I have found) is oakwood. Does anyone know any different? And what could I expect to pay for the additional snow load from the standard option? Thanks for the help!!!!!

Wendy,

This option will probably cost around $1,800 to $3,000 depending on the builder. Most builders should offer this as an option. I am surprised that no other builder does in your area.

A 100 lbs snow load is a state or local code, the HUD code would superseed that requirement. Where you live in these United States determines what the HUD code requires for a show load. If the area you live in allowed placment of a HUD code home then the HUD requirement is what is used.
