Redman vs. Dutch

Post by Paula » Sat Mar 23, 2002 9:56 am

My husband and I are looking at both Redman and Dutch drywall finished homes. We are equally impressed with both. However, the kitchen cabinets (not the doors) in the Dutch homes seem to be made of partical board which my husband thinks is going to eventually be a problem. Does anyone have any comments on the two homes that may help us out? Thanks in advance!

Hello Paula,

Redman and Dutch are comparable in construction. I believe solid wood cabinets would be a good choice. Particelboard cabinets will eventually cause problems in the future. Be sure to consider 2x8 floor joists and a 4-12 roof pitch also. God bless.

Thanks Randy. The Dutch has a 5/12 roof with the residential option. And I think we were told that the 2x8 floor was an option. We were really steering towards the Dutch because there is a floor plan that I love, but my husband does not like the cabinets, and they don't have solid wood as an option. So I guess I am going to have to look some more!! LOL.....
