To all those who are familiar with Karstens:

What options would you recommend?

Thanks!

Sue,
I ordered my home with 30 pdsf. roof load. Put more insulation in the roof over R-38. Came standard tape and textured, water shut off's at every fixtures, 2x6 top and bottom plates, 3" crown molding thru out the entire home, hardrock tiles in kitchen and on counter tops, one-piece shower stalls and tub-shower, plywood underlayment under hardboard siding, 40 gallon gas water heater, atrium doors, skylights in kitchen and bathrooms, upgraded kitchen cabinets. I bought the top of the line home from Karsten. They are very good people to deal with. The factory staff are very helpful in every way. They can modify any floorplan you like to meet your needs. Good luck. Nancy.

Thanks, Nancy. What is plywood underlayment and was this an expensive option?

Sue,
What I meant was the subsheathing under the hardboard siding. I put a 7/16" plywood wrapped on the exterior studs and hardboard siding over it which would give it extra stength. Cost me an extra 500.00. I have the Karsten Classic JK series. It's such a great home.
