We are looking into buying a House Smart Home and would like any information, good or bad about them. They are a division of Oakwood homes.

Eric, scroll down on the older message thread and go to the one dated to 3-10-01 by Gloria, titled HOSE SMART. There you should get your answers about the product you want to know. Good luck.

Thank you for the information. From what a few people said, the House Smart homes aren't what they seem. I have called the BBB of Oklahoma City and they don't have any bad things on record for this dealer. Are there any other places to contact for information on this? Also, we are looking at homes by Fuqua, Sunshine, Karsten, and solitaire...what is your opinion on these?

Hello Eric,

I like Fuqua Homes and Solitaire Homes both are well built homes. If you're looking for more information about House Smart contact some local loan officers in your area and ask them what they think of them. Usually a loan officer will know if the company does what it promises and how well a job they do. Good luck!

Eric, Since you reside in Oklahoma, you might as well check the Solitaire home in Waurika, Oklahoma out. They build homes like no other competetor does. Plywood floors and grid work in the floors, tape and textured thru out, gridwork in the ceilings, architectural shingles, OSB siding reinforced with 7/16 plywood underlayment, 2x6 sidewalls on doublewides, and 2x4 on singlewides, one piece shower/tub combination, and real wood cabinets. Fuqua homes are also a very good home and very heavy duty and is a very well constructed home. Fuqua home mainly competes with the site built home and their home are very appealing, Karsten homes are also a very good home and is a very, very , very picky about who sells their homes, because they want their homes service if any problems arises. You compare and see who you like the best. Remember not all manufactured homes are alike in construction wise, some companies go the extra mile and deliver a good fine quality product. Good luck!
