Anyone know anything about Skyline? I am looking at a Skyline Silver Edition, very nice home on the inside, not sure about how well it's built, any news on Skyline?
I still might stick with the fleetwood, but really love the look of the skyline.

Skyline homes?
RE: Skyline homes?
We just moved into our new Skyline home and love it. The quality of construction is excellent. Our model is the Oakwood Manor #9711 Approx. 1500 sq ft. I highly reccomend Skyline. They are the only Home that is UL inspected form Planning through finial inspection before delivery. We have had only minor alignment problems with doors and drawers which is to be expected. The Dealer has had his crew out to correct the problems within two days of our occupency. Make sure you go with a dealer with a very good rep! This makes all the difference.

RE: Skyline homes?
Well, I put down on this home, then pulled out after I figured they would have to drop the APR down to 5 - 6.5%. The salesman told me right to my face that he would probably be able to make it work, hahahaha. So the $1000 I put down on the home to push the loan I will be getting back.
At least I learned all the paperwork part of the deal. I was very picky on what I would initial when it came down to signing papers. Although now that I think about it I should have made him put in writing that I would get my $1000 back if I backed out.
Is it even right for the dealer to request money before the loan is approved?

Hi,
We put $5,000 down at the very first office visit with the dealer, another $5,000 when they ordered the house for us to be built. Once the house was ordered from the factory, we were told if we backed out we would loose our $10,000 down. At this point we still didnt technically know if we would be approved for the loan but the dealer told us our credit was "golden" and we would have no problem. Everything worked out fine.

RE: Down Payment
Hello, In all states your deposit is refundable. The only time your deposit would not be refundable is when the retailer has placed an order to the factory to have your home custom ordered. At this point it becomes very difficult to get your deposit back.

Look to another manufacturer. I wish I had never heard of Skyline, let alone purchase one. I have a friend who has had 2 Fleetwoods - Both --- He had to go to the state where he lives to make Fleetwood get the repairs done.... AND If you buy a Mfg., House - - GET PLYWOOD sub-flooring. Particle board is standard and does not hold up to moisture, let alone a plumbing leak. LOOK FOR a manufacturer who has a 5 year warranty......Any ? Contact me [email protected]
RE: Down Payment
Boy do I . I hope I stopped you in time . POOR response for warranty repairs. Poor workmanship. I HAVE been lied to by the factory reps more than once . Would I recommend Skyline - NO! Skyline has taught me to look elsewhere in the future for housing - NEVER a MH again..........
