Robyn, Depending how the manufactured home was constructed and the materials used and how the owners took care of the home could put the manufactured homes life expectancey over 60 years. I have a friend who owns a Century Housing Corporation of Ft. Morgan, Colorado and is manufactured in the early 70's and the home is now 30 years old and is still in a top notch condition. If you maintain the manufactured home it could last you a life time. Expecially the one that are now built are very well constructed and compete with the housing industry. You can't really tell the difference between the manufactured home and a site built homes these days. Especially when they dress the home with stucco exterior or lap siding or rock faced the home. Today manufactured homes are built better than yesterdays match box. Manufactured homes are also strictly inspected thru the factory and made shur it complies with HUD code or UBC code which ever it's built for. They also have a third party inspector which is usually an employee of the manufacturing company. So the home is usually inspected at every stage of the manufacturing of the home. Like when the chassis is built it's inspected closely, flooring is done it's also inpected, sidewalls, roof, etc. I hope this helps you.

Hello:

I have been shopping on and off for about 1 year. I have heard so many contradictions as to which type home is best. ex. Sunshine, Riverchase, Fleetwood, etc. I am strongly considering purchasing a Riverdale/Riverchase home. What is your professional opinion.

Thanks
Susie
