Hi, We have an older MH in a Resort. It is in need of leveling badly. I've tried my old contacts thi morning, to no avail. We were given a price of 400$. The he is 14X66, no additions or Tip out's. We also were told we could do it ourselves with 3 manual car jacks.....
Any idea's or suggestions. Please email me if possible.
thanks!
Sheila
Leveling
Re: Leveling
I am not so sure I would be using a car jack on the house...Sounds like this could be very dangerous...cars are no where near as heavy as a manufactured homes..
$400...sounds like a fair professional price if the results are guaranteed..
If you try this yourself...get a good hydralic jack and a water level...level each pier as you go...Good Luck

Re: Leveling
I have heard that if you check your doors on the inside of the home it will tell you if you need adjusting. (If your doors close or open by themselves it a good indication that you need to be leveled.) Also (if your hearing allot of cracking or what some people call settling is also a good indication you need leveling) I have only used people that have a water or laser leveling device. Be careful if they say they can tell by looking. Try to use someone that has done this type of work in the park you home is in. If not in a park try the nearest manufacture and ask questions on whom they use. Blessings Dane
Re: Leveling
Thanks so much. We are now being told 500$ which is still fine. I know it is a good price, would just rather put 500$ into redecorating.... LOL actually, this is a much older home 1972 actually. Has 3 nice size Bedrooms though, with a King size bed in the Master. In dire need of updates from top to bottom. Roof is next. My Mom suggessted a rubber roof, i have never heard of them... I am told they are popular in Fla. I would like a peaked roof. But, how would I know If the home is capable of holding a pitched roof? I am not going for 7/12 or anything! LOL just a low shigled roof I think... would or could it be 3/12 on a single? I would guess not on a 12 ft. wide home? I don't know of any other options uther than what is there witch is tarred..... This home isonly usedoccasionally on weekends for 4 mos of the year. Not wiling to dump much. Also, the home has no piers! I checked and was shocked... They just pulled it i sat it on Cynder's and gravel. Wheels intact! This is a private Resort, more like camping with a golf course, pool lakes and tennis etc. Quite nice, just a very old home.
Thanks!
