We're seriously looking at Colony Factory built homes by Commodore, and wonder if anyone has heard good or bad remarks about them. Or if you actually have owned or own one, we would like your input.
I've contacted the company itself for very specific information, and have been pleased thus far on any interaction we have had with them. Right now we're waiting on what their reponses will be to our last list of questions in regard to build and structural topics that we we had, and we'll go from there. We've looked at a dealership before, but it's been a while. We plan on going back this coming Tuesday.
Thanks
Sandy
Colony Factory built homes by Commodore homes?
Re: Colony Factory built homes by Commodore homes?
Hey I live in a park in NJ and Colony is the only brand that our park owner deals with, I have seen some beautiful ones come in and structurally they seem to be sound especially for our crazy weather up here. WE are considering purchasing a new one as well and have no qualms about making our purchase a Colony.
Re: Colony Factory built homes by Commodore homes?
STOP-STOP-STOP Hopefully, I have caught you before you sealed the deal on a new Colony. I purchased a Timberlane from a dealer in Littleton, NH in May, 2003. My home was not delivered until July 25, 2003 and not habitable until two weeks later. My home was damaged during transport (hit a guardrail and went over curb). Inspection on the inside revealed poor, poor workmanship (cabinet finish trim missing, mismatched cabinet doors and drawer faces, used countertop simply turned over and new formica applied, tub surround not adhered to wall and left gaping open with no caulking/sealant. Most importantly, furnace did not work when connected and no New England switch (emergency shut-off) in home. I am still fighting with dealer and factory to finish the repairs.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND COLONY OR THE COMMODORE FACTORY.
