FHA anchors / ties.

Post by Terry Batchelor » Thu May 04, 2006 12:49 pm

I and currently working with a local Realtor, here in South East Geogia (Camden country). Mobile homes are being purchased through FHA financing, and i am unsure of the anchoring / tying down requirements, especially with the FHA being involved. Does anyone have any comments?
Thankyou

Just what function in the process do you provide...Are you the buyer, seller, appraiser, originator, underwriter, inspector or engineer..FHA foundation requirements are extensive but the only anchor requirement I can think of is the home must be anchored to local code Most FHA foundation engineers like to see ground anchors into concrete as opposed to a hole in the dirt..Most of your county is wind zone 2 and some is wind zone 3...You might want to ask your local building inspector what he/she looks for...The owners manual of the homes will have specific anchor requirements for each wind zone...
