Double Wide or Modular home?

Post by Julie » Tue Apr 25, 2006 11:58 am

I am trying to purchase a mid-1970's Marlet (spelling of the name taken off of the paper attached to the inside of a door) home. It is listed as a boca home by the selling agent, but my real estate agent believes it to be a double wide trailer. It is a 1500 square feet home that is sitting on the same size walk out basement with no interior support walls in the basement. There are steel i-beams the run under the house (the reason my agent thinks its a double wide). I was told by a construction worker those beams were put in to support the home. The model number is 24362DW-5A-5B. I have been trying to track down the company to see if someone can tell me by the model number what is it, but have had no luck. There is no serial number on the documention attached to the door. If anyone can point me in a direction, I would certainly appreciate it!
