I own a 2005 MH. Is the plumbing pipe compatible with the pvc you would buy at a home supply store. I think the black pipe (on drain stub outs) is called ABC,? why is this used instead of regular white schedule 40. Some of the white pvc going to sinks seems to be smaller, maybe 3/8s, and the color is off white. This size is not common in stores. I hope I don't have to special order pvc pipe every time I have to do a repair or in making a change in a fixture or design. Thanks for any advice.

The black pipe is ABS, the white PVC. All drain line is measured from the inside and shown as ID, meaning inside dimemsion. Both ABS and PVC are then the same size and can be glued with an all purpose cement. The tubular waste pvc, that you see on a sink, is of a smaller outside diameter, because it is also sold by the ID size. It is pvc, but known as "tubular in the trade and the same size as tubular bras, normally chromed, and used for the sink waste fittings. These are all standard plumbing sizes and types of pipe used in all construction, and available anywhere plumbing is sold.
