heating duct work

Post by scott » Wed Jan 18, 2006 9:52 am

we have just purchased a pennwest home in october. The problem we are having is we dont get any heat in the front of the house upstairs or downstairs. We have 2 furnaces one for each floor. We had a heating guy come in and he showed us all the problems there is. Now we contacted the builder and they said they wont do any of the repairs.

What is the bui9lder suggesting you do...shiver???....You have a modular home..the general contractor who built it is responsible to make sure duct work is properly installed.....Were the furnace in the unit from the factory that built the home or were they installed on-site as the home was built...Check with your state's contractor licensing agency and find out how to file a complaint....

The furnaces were in the home from the factory. We were in contact with the manufacturer and they also said it was the builder that was to fix the problem. The builder has not returned any calls we have made. We have had so many problems with them, we would not reccomend them to anyone.

Ouch...this manufacturer sure has little regard for customer satisfaction...Sounds like the builder had no idea exactly how to erect this home..I would still suggest the agency of government who license general contractors in your state...The builder must have a bond..You probably would need an attorney to be able to attach it...

We have contacted an attorney we see him Friday the 20th. Also the manufacturer is sending someone out to take a look, but we are having our own guy come out so there will be no ass covering by the manufacturer. Thanx for your help we will be intouch.
