River Birch Homes

We are considering buying a doublewide built by River Birch homes and would welcome some comments on workmanship, reliablilty, etc. I think we will enjoy the new home, I would like some stories or comments please. The dealer is asking 68k for a 4 bdrm 32 x 60.

I have looked at more than a few River Birch lot models and cannot say that I was very impressed by the poor quality kitchen and bath cabinetry. Look inside the cabinets and you will see that there is no back to the cabinet, just wall, yeah, just wall. Cheap Cheap Cheap... you get what you pay for. If the manufacturer cuts corners in that area, just think what else they are cutting corners on. Be smart and spend your dollars wisely and get the most value you can for your hard earned money. River Birch ain't it. Sorry to be so honest, but I call it as I see it.

Thank you Billy for the honesty. I agree with you on some shoddy work. There are staple marks on most of the walls, and staples sticking out around the fireplace. I would think the fireplace area is the one place you would want your product to shine! The front door jamb was ruined by some carpenter, it will have to be replaced if I decide to take the product as it is messed up. I did inspect the cabinets, I did not notice the missing backing, but I noticed several spots on the cabinet framing where the screwdriver clutch was too tight and smashed the wood. There was an attempt to conceal the damage with white putty.
I would appreciate any additional comments. Perhaps from an owner to two?

my husband and i purchased a 2006 river birch double wide in 09-05 and it was a brand new fixer upper basicly. I can not tell you the extent of problems i am facing. There are too many problems to list in this forum. i would like to speak to you about the problems you faced and i thin k i might have a solution for all involved. please contact me [email protected]. thanks. i would not recommened river birch to my worst enemy!

I own a 2006 doublewide odel 3202 and i would not recommend river birch to anyone. i have had nothing but problems since the day of delivery and although it is under warranty getting repairs made is a time consuming matter on yuour part. i am on the phone trying to get repairs done 2-3 times a week and it will take months for them to get to you. they have poor craftsmanship and i wish i had never bought mine.
