Skirting: Homemade
My MH is on a concrete foundation and is held up by concrete block, What is may best bet to cover the block and add insulation at the same time. I know you can buy vinyl skirting but is there something better (maybe home-made)? TIA

Are you going to backfill earth against the block, or leave it above grade?
If you are going to backfill, you can attach thick panels of styrofoam (or another brand of expanded foam insulation panels) with construction adhesive (aka liquid nails) to the outside of the block walls, and fill in dirt. This technique is used for poured foundations.
If you are going to leave the block wall above grade, your options are more limited. You don't want to attach anything the the block wall which will cause it to extend significantly outward from the face of your MH's siding, or you could create the potential to collect and trap water draining downward on your siding.
Most times, the vinyl, faux brick or wood skirting that covers a block wall is uninsulated and the division between the siding and skirting is trimmed with a horizontal "belly band". You can make your own skirting out of any suitable building material, like Hardipanel, but moisture will always be an issue if it is in ground contact. That's why vinyl, plastic or aluminum products are normally preferred in this application.

Hi,
i have a quick question. is it possible to dig deeper in the ground and set your home on permanent foundation so that only one or two rows of block will be showing. we are thinking about doing this if it is possible. i think the look would be alot better.
