attic vent fan???

We have an attic vent fan on our 05 Homes of Merit. There is a fan and switch in a guest bedroom and I can't get an answer on whether or not it needs to run. One guy at the dealer said HUD requires it, but you don't need to run it. Any info on this system?

Look in your oweners manual..call the 800 number to the plant and ask for an engineer..ask him this question..then call the salesperson and tell him what he said....NOT a HUD requirement.....If I remember right this fan was for air circulation and venting to the out side......
