Mobile home model numbers

I have a mobile home I'm interested in purchasing, however the model number is nowhere to be found. I have the VIN, the measurements and the manufacturer name, (Champion), but have been completely unable to find the model. The title only lists the manufacturer name, and the owners don't remember what model the home is. How can I find this information?

It may or may not be on the data plate inside the home. Manufacturers often refer to models by internal numbers, as opposed to names.

You should be able to locate the serial number of the home stamped on the front cross member on the chassis. Since you know it is a Champion, locate this number and call a Champion manufacturing center near you. Have the serial number with you. Also if you are lucky there should a a red (or now gray) 2 x 4 label on the outside of your home, typically near the end. If you have this label, you can call HUD give them this number and they can give you all the info you need.
