Perhaps John is preparing for his infomerrcial.One night when I am up at 3:00AM
I'll be able to see him hawking "his plan" to make a million dollars selling real estate. (only 399.99!!!!!!!.)
I feel John lives in the past and hasn't learned the defination of paradigmns.
One can dispute all his points but why bother,after all these are all just" trailors" and "doublewides"

We haven't been selling real estate AND manufactured homes for quite as long as John. Our experience is that a good location appreciates, a good design appreciates, and good maintenance appreciates.
A site-built home with the typical 50's aisle-type kitchen is not easily sold. Likewise, an older style (especially eave-less) manufactured home is harder to sell.
Dismissing John is not the answer. Everyone in this business needs to understand the utility and practicality of manufactured homes. They are not right for everyone, but when they are right for our buyers they are wonderful.
Above all, demand drives everything, houses, land, cars.

My fiance and I are looking to buy a DW manufactured home in Reading, Pa. It is two years old and is built on cement piers on 1/3 acre of property located near the river. This particular home was constructed by Redman Homes located in Ephrata, Pa. In regards to depreciation does it matter that this home is built on cement piers verses concrete foundation? Secondly, has anyone encountered a home built by this manufacturer? Is their product good? Any info, advice or input appreciated.

Hi, We built a beautiful log home this past year. We actually built it and a lot of heart and pride are involved here. Property across from us has been sold and they are looking for a variance so mobile homes can be placed on this land.I'm not sure if it is for many multiple home or just 2 or what. I am concerned about the value of our home and any pitfalls that my be out there if this change in zoning goes through.. We moved out here from the city, we have put everthing we have into our home and I hate to have the value of it be depreciated because the variance has been changed to allow mobile homes. I worry that once the variance has been changed for this parcel thenthe door is open, more will follow. I live in an area where we are surrounded by land from absent owners. The property has been farmed for hay or grass over the years. I'm looking for any and all the information I can aquire, so I can go to the zoning meeting and offer good reasons for the zoning not to be changed. I may be totally wrong on this and it may have little impact on our property but I need to know the facts. Any information you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I am interested in purchasing a modular home or a doublewide. There is a big difference in price. Will it be to my advantage to purchase a modular home because of the depreciation in value of the doublewide?

Hello John,
I read a letter that you sent to a fellow questioning manufactured homes and will they depreciate. I thought your imput was imformative but can you tell me your opinion on modular homes. I have property in North Carolina and we are considering manufactured or modular. My husband wants modular, I say lets get prices on both. The lot is in an area surrounded by mobile homes with a few modulars down the street. Your imput would be very appreciated.
