florida permits

Post by John » Wed Jan 29, 2003 5:35 pm

What permits do I need for a bare minimum to move a single wide onto a lot?

I bought a 1 acre lot in Citrus County that had a double wide on it which was repossesed, so the lot already has electric well and septic on it.

I came across a good buy of a single wide and want to get it placed on my property, we are not moving in at the present time, since we are out of state. I just want to get the home onto my property.

Anyone who has been this route, would appreciate any info you can provide

thanks

It has been a while since I worked in FL...but here are some of the requirements..

1) Check with the zoning to be sure it does allow singles and if so if there are any age restriction of used homes...for that matter FL zoning is always changing..might not even allow manufactured homes at all now...

2) You will need a septic permit..They will inspect the exsisting septic to see that it meets current code...

3) You will have to register your home with the county tax collector..Citrus County has impact fees I believe (hope I am wrong here..these can be very high)..If so you will have to pay them here..

4)You will have to buy at least a building permit..possible a driveway permit as well...The best palce to get info is from the county...The web site is pretty good...but says little about manufactured homes...you might want to call and get exact info from the powers to be...Good Luck..
