toxic mold
toxic mold
I just fixed a toxic mold problem from a leaky vent pipe that went from my bathtub thru my roof. The manufacturer never sealed the pipe at the roof entrance. I had mold on my shower ceiling. I've rebuilt from behind the bathtub & repaired the moldy ceiling. But now I get a toxic smell similar to before the repair & I can't tell where its coming from. Is it worth repairing or should I give up & sell my home for Junk or whatever?
Re: toxic mold
Whatever the problem is it is correctable. There are plenty of people that will be happy to steel your home and make the needed repairs if you decide to give up and give it away.
The pipe thru the roof is a vent that is part of the system that prevents the smell from your septic or sewer system from backing up into the home. I would check the vent pipe to be sure that its sections have not become unattached within the walls.
Before you toss your entire investment find an experienced home repair/maintenance contractor who can help you.
