FHA compliant foundation set

Post by Tim Johansen » Thu Jan 20, 2005 8:32 am

I am looking to install a new MH in a subdivision that requires the home to be set with an in-ground concrete block foundation. One dealer I talked to said that the cost would be $33/lineal foot, about $7800 for our home and that this would be FHA compliant. Another said the same type of FHA compliant foundation would be about $1500. They both have installed homes in the subdivision, so I am confused. Why the great price difference? How much should such a set=up cost?

Thanks Tim Johansen, Tucson AZ

Suggest you check the deed restrictions. You are not comparing like installations, you can not purchase a masonry skirt with footings for 1500.
