You could live in a tent in the woods and eat roots for less than $500 per month but who would want to. I live on earth not California so my perspective is different but the first thing to consider is what you can comfortably afford and what home in that price range appeals to you. I would never go into a park unless it is an equity park where you own the land. Very few homes than are to be moved are worth 100k unless it is a national landmark.

I'm in Santa Rosa, CA, the Bay Area, 50 miles north of San Francisco. My home was $142,500 installed in a mobile home park. I couldn't afford the lot and home so this seemed the best thing to do. Since then I have become disabled, which changes things a bit. It amazes me the huge price differences in states outside CA, and even in some other areas of CA. I might check out Palm Desert area as I do like that.

Diane,

One thing you might want to check into is in which states you have to pay state tax on the home. In Nevada, I believe you don't have to pay any sales tax.

Calif. u guys r nuts 4 paying that kind of loot 4 a MH (over 100k)
I live in NJ and have a beautiful MH which I bought 4 50k and it is sooooo nice i forget I am in a MH most days.....

Yes but..they do not have to buy snow shovels..snow tires and winter clothes..

AND..they have a movie star for governor..what else could you want..
