3/4 in the ceiling is common but not in all MH.

Also the floor vents for air flow being in the floor, here in Arizona just do NOT make sense. It causes the a/c unit to run much longer than need be yet the industry has NOT caught up to date with what is best for the home owner paying the utility bills.

And as for the comment by Author: LJ (---.dr1.pin.cybertrails.com)
Date: 08-05-04 11:48 on Palm Harbor. I was amazed when I read 'high pressure sales' as had not encountered such an experience until they got a hold of our phone number. The sales manager from one location we had visited called and was in my opionion, extremely high pressure and rude. You can bet we will go else where and if we settle on a Palm Harbor it won't be from that particular location!

Can you offer any information on Oregon built homes?
I have heard that even the Fleetwood of Oregon are better than form California.
The story I have heard is that Oregon built homes are better than California built homes even the homes with 3/8" sheetrock have better workmanship.

Re: Hallmark Homes

Thanks Murray for your comments about the park that allows only Hallmark.

This park in Nevada, for example, sells a small lot and an 1100 square foot Hallmark with the
land for a cost of about $130,000.

The service is reputed to be excellent. It is the community that interests us. In addition you can't buy land in any park in Las Vegas; whereas you can buy the land in this park in Southwest Nevada..

I have been in the business for a long time..seen scores of models and specs..I have never heard of 3/4" cieling sheetrock..only 3/8ths and 1/2...I have heard of a few homes that use 3/4" sheeting on the top of the roof..instead of 1/2 or 5/8ths..

You stated you have a list of prefered items you wanted to see done at construction. Would you help me out with that list. We are about to purchase for the first time.

Thank you for any and all of your help

I was told by a contractor that 1/2" drywall has a tendency to sag after a few years. But on a ceiling, I would think that would be a function of the rafter to hold up, and a thicker drywall would create even more sag. I will probably stick with 1/2".

Is there any opinion on upgrading windows above the usual single hung vinyl thermopane? They should have a lifetime warranty.

Looking for a MH in Oklahoma. We are trying to decide between a Palm Harbor and a Solitaire. Do you have any comment on this regarding construction? I have to say that while Palm Harbor offers many options and floor plans they are high pressure. On the other hand Solitare is much less pushy and has few options and floor plans. We still might builld, but deciding which MH is overwhelming!

Please help an Oklahoma'n out!
