Help!!!!!
We just had a Dutch 28x68 MH set. The walk through produced a list of needed repairs over 5 pages.
We are getting the impression the repairs will be done on a "if we agree" anything needs to be done.
We are talking about windows that won't open more than a few inches, and now today after rain last night window sills full of water.
Walls so bowed the shower door won't close. Kitchen cabinet going down hill almost a inch.
So much of ???? under all the carpet its hard to walk without shoes because of stepping on this stuff.
I could go on and on.
The house is there and paid for. They would not come and look at anything that needed to be done untill we paid IN FULL, even when our banker wanted to hold out some money to make sure repairs were done.
We have no choice but to move into this house because our home is sold. We have to start moving tomorrow.
Please tell me we have some recourse and what it is.

Re: repairs of MH
Ann,
i would agree with the banks, I would NEVER paid in full , on a cash deal , if I had issues,
Also what state are you in? if push comes to shove you can go to the state to make them correct problems,
Also if there is dangerious debris in the floor , they would be liable if someone get injured
Also call the manufacture and talk with their boss ,you may can get the ball rolling.

Re: repairs of MH
Danny- We are in Wisconsin. Our loan needed to be processed and the dealer would not release the lean without payment in full. The title company said we had no choice.
Also- we were told tonight water in the frame was because the weep holes are plugged.????? What is that.
What state agency should we contact.
Thank-you so much!

Re: repairs of MH
Weep holes are little holes at the bottom of the screens on the outside of the home..some home movers tape or silicone the screens in place for transit and cover the hole is the process...Set up crews often forget to check this..

rmurray
Thank-you sooo much.
One more question- are we in the relm of being reasonable to require the carpet be replaced. A local carpet company feels the carpet has been compromised because of the large amount of debris not to mention when a large area of sheet rock work was done, non of the carpets were covered and the workers threw sheet rock on the carpet and than walked on it. The plan as we understand it now, the carpet will be pulled up the floors swept and the carpet put back down and than vacuumed.

Re: repairs of MH
If it is cleaned properly..under as well as over...there should be no problem with the carpet...
Sounds like the manufacturer and dealer are going to work with you...give them a chance..
