Well,
After much research, talking to manufactured home owners, and dealers.....almost 6 months worth of it, I went today, after having visited several times, and signed the contract on my home. I am going to keep an account of how it goes posted on this board, as this board has been extremly helpful in my quest.

The salesman at the dealership has been great, very effcient, informaitive, and answered all our questions to the fullest.

When the paperwork was complete....the manager came in and reviewed everything....asked us if we had any questions, and just made sure everything was in order....which in itself made me feel very comfortable.

I can say that I walked away from the dealership feeling confident. My home is going on 2.5 acres that is included in the land/home deal....we found the land.

Well....I will keep you posted as events unfold :)

Which plant is your home from. We have been looking at PH in Tulsa and so far like the Austin homes the best.

Congratulations. We just moved into our PH back in November. We got ours built at the Ft Worth Plant. Our experience with PH was wonderful. Kimmy, the best advice that I can give you is to be patient and don't be afraid to ask questions and maintain constant communication with your salesperson during this process. Good Luck!!

Our home is from the Siler City plant. We had a dreadful time with our sales center, but our post-sale experience with the plant has been WONDERFUL. They are so knowledgable and helpful, it's been grand. I'm pleased to know our long-term needs are in THEIR hands, in fact, any issues that might go through the dealer, I just call SC and let them take care of it!

Thus far our experiance with the sales center has been outstanding..the dealer was courteous, and knowledgeable...he was so helpful in explaining every little detail, and making sure we understood it. If the rest of it goes as well as it has thus far I will be a happy man!!! Till later....have a good one!

Bob,
What a gleeful outlook....actually, the salesman has been with the company over 10 years (same dealership), they were awarded highest overall customer satisfaction in 2000,2001,2002.

They are also one of the top five dealerships in sales...in the nation.

The staff (salesman) commisons pay/bonuses are based on customer ratings...I feel extremly confidant in my choice, I'm sure that some folks are not happy with some PHs some of the time....but, Im also sure that some BMW owners were not satisified as well....so it goes with life....all experiances will not be pleasant for all the people all the time.

That having been said, we are still in the beginning of the process...time will tell :)

Good Luck,,,,,
No offence ,,, We have had several NEW Homes in the last 5yrs... Every sales in every Mfg. When we had problems, The sales person WILL SAY!!!! So sorry to hear this, Here call this no..... Service Dept,,,,, The old passing the buck routine,,,,
Then they will start screening your calls, Just hide and watch.......
Of course all MFG Homes will have problems some more some less... I bet PH showed you a pic of their PH home after a Hurricane Hit???
We seen the same pic. on many MFG. Homes...... LOL!!!!!
We looked at the PH. We wanted a Skylite in our home,, This so called sales lady replied with this awnser, " Oh we don't pit cutesies in our homes " Then she wanted to know how big? Sales pitch for 1hr. Hey! When we look for a home its our business how big we want we don't want some telling us what to buy,,,,,or how big you need, We know when we see it-PH does make some good homes, Over Priced for sure,,, 10 yrs selling homes tells me the mark up is good for him....
thats our statement
Happy Holidays
